Actually waterproof! Took it out on the lake, and everything stayed completely dry. It even floats, which gave me peace of mind when I dropped it in the water. Great quality and highly recommend.

Excellent Waterproof Design With Thoughtful Storage and Features

This is a very nice waterproof backpack with excellent build quality and a lot of thoughtful features. What really sets it apart is the waterproof design. The exterior has a substantial TPU construction, and both the large main compartment and smaller front compartment use heavy-duty watertight zippers. The zippers take more effort to open and close than a normal backpack zipper, which initially makes them feel almost stuck. However, that's part of what creates such a tight seal. There are conveniently placed loops that let you hold the bag with one hand while pulling the zipper with the other. Once completely closed, I can press on the backpack and the trapped air doesn't simply escape, which gives me confidence in the seal.At 25L, there's plenty of useful storage. Inside is a Velcro-secured laptop compartment and a zippered mesh pocket for smaller items such as keys and a wallet. The main area has room for things like a change of clothes, large towel, extra sneakers and lunch. Outside there's another quick-access pocket, adjustable bungee storage, a water bottle holder and an additional open side pocket. The padded back and shoulder straps are comfortable, and I especially like having sturdy carrying handles on both the top and side. There are also removable adjustable gear loops that can secure fishing rods, hiking poles or other equipment. My primary reason for getting this is kayaking. I can carry it on my back to the water and then securely attach it to my kayak without worrying about my phone and other belongings getting wet.The matte-black finish looks great, too. Overall, this feels like a well-designed, rugged and high-quality waterproof backpack that should be especially useful for kayaking, boating, fishing and other outdoor activities.

Comfortable and Functional

This waterproof backpack is the first truly waterproof backpack I have owned. Everything put inside the main pouch or the small front pocket stay completely dry - even if fully submerged. It is ideal for taking on a motorcycle, hiking, or really any outdoor adventure. The inside is very roomy. My 15 inch laptop easily slides into the padded laptop / tablet pouch. Since the material is stiff and the zipper is not designed to stretch, you cannot fit in quite as much as a standard backpack. But it could easily hold a couple changes of clothes with shoes and some snacks to take on an adventure. The zipper was extremely stiff the first few times I zipped and unzipped it. It does get somewhat smoother with use. You will always need to pull firmly because the zipper is fully sealing the thick waterproof exterior each time. A sturdy pull tab is attached. The straps are fully adjustable. The area resting against your back as well as the interior of the straps are padded and comfortable. There are a couple side pouches where bottles or similar can be stored. The side pouches are not waterproof, so you would need to put in only items that can get wet.Overall, this is sturdy, comfortable, and fully functional as advertised. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors. Even for college students who might be caught in the occasional downpour, this is well worth the investment to keep textbooks and laptops completely dry.

Excellently made waterproof backpack, GREAT for wildlife photographers

I’m an avid paddle boarder and a professional photographer. Being able to mix those two passions always felt unattainable. Sure, I could put a camera into a dry bag and bring it onto my board, but it made my board heavy and clunky when I had to carry my board with a camera attached. And when I needed to use my camera, I would have to sit down on my board and crawl to the nose or the back of my board to get the camera out of the dry bag while being careful not to land myself or my camera in the water. So I was thrilled when I saw this waterproof backpack from Drench! Not only is this a brand I have used before and trust, but it’s a really well made product that is designed to hold a lot of equipment or supplies while keeping them handy and off your board. By wearing it as a backpack, your hands are free but your gear is right within reach. You could even front wear the backpack to have the camera just inches away, but also completely safe. The zippers definitely take some getting used to, but it is vitally important that you close them completely to seal out the water. Use the zipper pull with two fingers and also make use of the tabs on the backpack itself to help the zipper close properly and completely. The backpack has a number of handy features such as an outer bungee string areas and two outer slip pockets to keep things like water bottles or sunscreen handy (things that can get wet). I like that there is also a laptop sleeve inside of the backpack, in case you are maybe a nature or water sports photographer or someone who finds themselves in wet climates and needs to keep their gear safe and dry. This is such a brilliant product and it never occurred to me to seek out something like this, but as soon as I saw it I knew I needed it! Next trip to the rainforest, this will definitely be coming with me.This would also be a great product to carry something like towels that you don’t want to get wet either. I was paddling with friends recently who had large bulky dry towels on their board (which wouldn’t fit into their dry bag), but as soon as we were coming into shore and getting off of our boards, their towels ended up getting soaked by waves at the shoreline, so a product like this would’ve been perfect.I’m going out paddling later today, and can’t wait to put this to use. I will update my review if there are any flaws or concerns, but so far it’s been great and I am really impressed with the high quality materials as well as the smart design features. It’s super deep and can hold a LOT of gear or towels or snacks or change of clothing, etc. I love that the backpack straps are super adjustable for all different kinds of body shapes. There’s also a sturdy handle on top as well as on the side for multiple carrying options. There are also some small reflective parts on the backpack to give you extra visibility. There are also some small straps on the outside that I believe are made to carry a fishing pole, but would also work really well for a monopod if you need to carry one of those which is great for particularly nature photography in the rainforest with a long heavy telephoto lens.I would say my only one small complaint would be that it only comes in black. I am frequently out paddling in the heat, and a black backpack attracts heat rather than repels it. I would love if this came in other colors, especially lighter colors like maybe a really pale teal, or even yellow or white, so as to reflect the heat off of it instead of building heat inside the backpack, especially when I have camera equipment or a laptop inside.

Seems decent and will keep your things dry

This backpack seems to be well built and should keep your items dry. I zipped it up and squeezed it and the air remained inside and it did not deflate telling me it is fully waterproof and will keep anything inside dry even if it is dropped into a pool of water. You just need to make sure the zippers are fully closed and are not even a small bit open, otherwise, water will work its way into that opening and get your things wet. But even if this were to happen, the amount of water getting inside would be minimal compared to a regular backpack since the only water intrusion would occur where the zipper wasn't fully closed. The only thing I have an issue with is the material they use for the accessories on the outside such as the front bungee storage and the hooks and straps on the outside of the backpack. These are made of the same waterproof material as the rest of the backpack and feels like a thin rubber/plastic material. Although the material feels durable and capable at this time, typically material like this tends to start tearing over time and once it does, it's compromised and will continue to tear until it's completely torn off or no longer usable. This may not be the case, and this material may be stronger than it seems to be, but it does feel susceptible to that type of damage to me so only time will tell. The handles are attached to the backpack and sealed with this material, but the handles themselves are the typical nylon type straps that you find on most products. I feel this type of material is more flexible and durable and wish they made all the other outside features this way.Despite this, overall, the backpack looks nice and seems to be well made and will provide the waterproof protection of your things as it's intended to do.

Really impressed with this backpack. It feels sturdy, has lots of room for everything I need, and the waterproofing is a huge plus. The straps are comfortable too, even when it’s packed full. Definitely happy with it!
